Batavia Depot Museum to Host Mary Lincoln Strawberry Tea & Civil War Fashion Show
Mary Todd Lincoln is a well-known figure in Batavia history, mostly due to her brief stay at Bellevue Place after the death of her infamous husband, Abraham Lincoln. But throughout her life, Lincoln was a hospitable, sophisticated woman known for her elegant strawberry tea parties.
The Batavia Depot Museum will host a Mary Lincoln Strawberry Tea and Civil War Fashion Show on Sunday, August 1 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Shannon Hall, 14 N. Van Buren St. Spend a delightful afternoon sipping tea with friends. Donna Daniels and other Mary Lincoln presenters will model and discuss the clothing of the period. Tea, coffee and a variety of treats will be served. The cost is $16 per person.
