Batavia celebrates disc golf course grand opening

BATAVIA, IL – Join the Batavia Park District and the Batavia Parks Foundation for an afternoon of celebration and activities honoring the development of the new 18-hole West Main Disc Golf Course at West Main Community Park, 40W101 W. Main St.

Activities for families, children and teens will be offered including skill clinics, disc throwing contests, a scavenger hunt and refreshments for all to enjoy. The course will be officially opened with a dedication ceremony at 1:00 p.m.

Skill clinics will be offered to teach children, teens and adults the basics of disc golf along with the rules and etiquette of the game. Clinics will be held in three age groups – 6-9, 10-12 and 13 and over. Basic instruction covered includes throwing, aiming and basket placement and how to enjoy the game no matter your age or skill level. The first 75 registrants will receive a complimentary starter disc. The cost is $7.
