We are proud to celebrate Aquatics Supervisor Mike Schiltz and the entire Quarry team for earning a prestigious 4-star audit rating from independent lifeguard auditor StarGuard ELITE.
The auditors visit facilities unannounced to observe daily operations and evaluate safety practices, staff performance and operations. This is the first of three audits the Quarry will complete this summer.
A 4-star rating is a significant achievement that recognizes a facility’s commitment to safety, quality and meeting high industry standards.

Residents may notice lily pad removal at Depot Pond. While lily pads are a natural part of a pond ecosystem, managing their growth is important to maintain a healthy balance for aquatic life.
“Overgrowth can affect water quality and fish health,” said Kim Hansen, Batavia Park District Director of Parks. “Excessive lily pads can reduce oxygen levels in the water, which may stress or harm fish and other aquatic life.”
Too many lily pads can also:
• Limit sunlight from reaching the water, preventing other beneficial aquatic plants from growing
• Create dense surface coverage that affects overall pond balance
• Develop extensive root systems that are difficult and labor-intensive to remove once established
Carefully managing lily pad growth supports a healthier pond environment for fish, plants and the community to enjoy.

We're so excited that the Illinois Parks and Recreation 2026 Six County Senior Games will be held at West Main Pickleball Courts June 25-27!
To accommodate these matches, West Main Pickleball Courts will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
The courts will open to the public each day at 3:30 p.m.
Due to inclement weather, tonight's Ben Tatar and the Tatar Tots and The Throwbacks concerts have been canceled. We'll see you next week at River Rhapsody.

Free River Rhapsody Concert
The Throwbacks will perform songs by Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and more, with a twist. They combine their unique style of high-energy singing and dancing with beloved classics.
The evening kicks off with the rescheduled children's concert featuring Ben Tatar and the Tatar Tots at 5 p.m., presented in partnership with Batavia Public Library.

Ben Tatar and the Tatar Tots will open for The Throwbacks on June 24, bringing their jazzy tunes to the stage. The lively show features audience interactions, toys, surprises and songs about food. Bring the whole family for an entertaining performance for all ages.

Give your children that unique experience with summer swim lessons at the Quarry. Lessons are available for infants and toddlers, preschoolers and older kids. They learn to feel comfortable in the water, and work on building their stroke and kicking skills as they progress.
