Are you looking for something fun to do this afternoon and evening indoors? Be part of creating a piece of community art and add your mark to the "Peace out Batavia!" mural. Painting takes place today through 9 p.m. at the Callahan Community Center, 150 Houston Street, Batavia.

Ready for your next family adventure? Pack a picnic, grab the kids, and head to Engstrom Family Park (326 Millview Drive)!
One of Batavia's favorite parks, Engstrom Family Park has plenty of ways to play and explore, including a fun playground, picnic shelter, sports fields, and a walking path. It's a fun place for kids to climb on the playground, kick a ball around or shoot hoops. Families will enjoy the picnic area and walking path.

During National Parks and Recreation Month, we are highlighting some of the Park District's people and places. Today, we feature Lori McDonald, Assistant Director of Community Recreation, who oversees and mentors full-time recreation staff, coordinates events, such as the Windmill City Festival, and serves as an integral part of the district.
Lori talks about her role at the district and her favorite district facility. She started her career as an intern and has worked here for over 30 years. Stay tuned for more interviews and insights from staff.
