We've been seeing a lot of fun Halloween displays popping up around Batavia. The Batavia Park District invites you to showcase your spooky creativity in our Halloween House Decorating Contest! Whether your style is hauntingly eerie, delightfully spooky, or full of whimsical charm, this is your chance to transform your home into a Halloween masterpiece and win a fantastic prize.

Judging Information:
All displays will be judged on Wednesday, October 14, between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Be sure your decorations are up and visible for our judges during this time!
Prizes:
Winners in both categories will receive a Batavia Park District prize package, which will be awarded the following day.
How to Participate:
Register online by October 11
After you register, submit 3-5 photos of your decorated house for judging by October 11. Please send your photos to zachm@bataviaparks.org. Make sure the photos highlight your Halloween sprit and decorations!
Photos and addresses of the participating homes will be available if you want to take your family for a spooky tour! 🎃
The Batavia Park District and the Batavia Lions Club are teaming up for the NexTrex recycling challenge! Donate your clean plastic recyclable bags and film and if we hit our goal, NexTrex will donate a FREE park bench made of the recycled material to the Park District for everyone to enjoy.
Accepted items: Grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, resealable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pallet wrap and stretch film, wood pellet bags and produce bags.
Please note: All plastic must be clean, dry and free of food residue.

Create a festive, hand-poured candle that is ready to place under the tree! Participants will select a fragrance from Ana Banana Co.’s curated holiday scent collection and pour their own 8 oz candle. While the candle begins to set, participants will personalize their creation with a candle name or seasonal label and complete the gift with a box, ribbon, and gift tag. Keep your finished candle or give it to someone special—although we won’t tell if you decide it’s too good to give away! All materials and gift packaging are included.

Our basketball leagues are all about learning the game, building skills and having fun on the court. Young players will work on fundamentals, teamwork and confidence while getting plenty of opportunities to practice and play. Just bring your sneakers, your energy and a willingness to learn.
